Mountain bike up Innsbruck's local mountain. Start at the bottom lift station of the former Patscherkofel cable car (Bilgeristraße road), continue to the turn-off for Heiligwasser, go south along the wide forestry road and then continue up the quite steep route towards the Patscher Alm mountain hut and the so-called Ochsenschlagboden. From the Patscher Alm, head south to the Hochmahdalm hut, take the gently climbing trail to Patscherkofel Schutzhaus and then enjoy the wonderful panoramic views on the trail up to the peak of Patscherkofel mountain. Refreshments are available along the way at Heiligwasser, the Patscher Alm, the Patscherkofel Schutzhaus and Patscherkofel summit. Our tips: If started in the city of Innsbruck, this tour is viewed by locals as one of the greatest challenges around, all uphill and requiring bikers to conquer 1600 vertical metres. Bike transport is possible on tram no. 6 and the "peak-to-peak" bus (route J).

There are two possible starting points for reaching the Profeglalm mountain hut. 1st starting point: the car park at the recycling centre in Ellbögen.
