Wheelchair accessible to view from the outside. The Ottoburg is located at the entrance to Innsbruck's historic old town, diagonally across from the Goldener Adler. Its striking red-white-red shutters make it hard to miss. The building has walls hung with ivy and was originally built by order of Emperor Maximilian I in the 15th century on what was once the city wall near the former Andechs Castle. The building has long been home to a well-run guesthouse with a restaurant and wine tavern.

In front of the Ottoburg, facing the River Inn, is a monument called "Vater und Sohn" (Father and Son). It is a work by Christian Plattner and stands as a tribute to the fight for freedom in 1809.
