Barrier-free mountain railroads

The Innsbruck region is a true Eldorado for summiteers - including those with disabilities, thanks to barrier-free access to the mountain railroads. The following list shows you what options are available.

Axamer Lizum cable cars barrerfree

The valley station at ground level and the cash desk area of the 10-person gondola lift is located directly at the Axamer Lizum car park. The entrance to the gondola lift can be reached via an own passenger lift. The entrance to the Olympiabahn, which is a little higher up, can only be reached via steps. On request, assistance may be provided by the lift staff. Both cable car entrances and the sun terrace in the Hoadl mountain station are at ground level, also the toilet facilities. The panorama restaurant Hoadlhaus can be reached via a staircase and an escalator. On request, there is assistance from the lift staff via a separate access point.  

Kühtai chair lift - accessible for handicapped

Accessibility on the Kühtai Three-Lakes cable car: The entrances to the 4-seater chairlift at the valley and mountain stations are barrier-free and independently accessible Enjoy the view from the mountain station and secure yourself some unique panorama photos. Barrier-free hiking routes are unfortunately not available. Toilets are fully accessible.

Accessibility on the Muttereralmbahn

Entrance to the 8-seater gondola is barrier-free and independently accessible. Barrier-free walking route to Götzner Alm. A tour to the reservoir is possible with supervision. Toilets at the valley and mountain stations are fully accessible. Disabled parking spaces are available. 60% disability entitles you to youth rates.

Accessibility on the Nordkette cable cars

The Hungerburgbahn (funicular) is barrier-free and independently reached via the lift. At the Seegrubenbahn (cable car) valleystation, please follow the signposted entrance for wheelchair users. The Hafelekarbahn (cable car) is also barrier-free, so that you can enjoy the view from 2,256 metres. The restaurant at the mountain station is also barrier-free. Toilets in all stations are fully accessible. 60% disability entitles you to youth rates.

Wheelchair accessibility on the Patscherkofelbahn

Patscherkofel mountain is accessible for wheelchair users and families with pushchairs!     Disabled parking spaces are available in the P2 car park. The bottom lift station is wheelchair accessible from the P2 car park. Wheelchair accessible transport is possible on the Patscherkofelbahn gondola. Wheelchair accessible toilet facilities are located at the bottom, middle and mountain lift stations. The two restaurants Das Hausberg and Das Kofel are wheelchair accessible, as is Intersport Patscherkofel. For all persons who are at least 60% disabled, the youth rate applies.
