En el Hafelekar, situado a 2.300 metros de altitud, hay excursiones fáciles para toda la familia que permiten disfrutar de grandes vistas sobre las montañas Karwendel y la ciudad de Innsbruck. Es también el punto de salida para los amantes de los deportes extremos como el freeride, downhill, etc. que disfrutan bajando por las laderas nevadas con una pendiente de infarto. El camino, pero, es tranquilo y permite observar cómodamente a los valientes deportistas que disfrutan de situaciones extremas.
El sendero preparado no presenta dificultad alguna, es seguro y permite a senderistas de todos los niveles explorar los alrededores de la estación de Hafelekar. Para llegar hasta aquí no hace falta camino – los funiculares Nordkettenbahnen suben desde el centro de la ciudad hasta aquí arriba.
