El punto de salida de este paseo está situado detrás de la piscina olímpica cubierta de la Vila Olímpica. Después de una hora y media a pie, llegada a la estación Löwenhaus del funicular Hungerburgbahn. Aquí, el funicular Nordkettenbahnen lleva a los pasajeros en tan solo 20 minutos a las estaciones de Seegrube y Hafelekar (2.300 metros de altitud). Quienes no quieren subir a la Cordillera Nordkette con el funicular, puede seguir a pie por el camino Hans-Psenner-Steg hasta llegar a la orilla norte del río Inn. Después de cruzar la carretera, el camino Hoher Weg asciende a través de bosques hasta Weiherburg y el Zoo Alpino de Innsbruck.
