Pettnau to the Friedensglocke Mösern (Mösern peace bell)

This hike starts at the church in Oberpettnau and takes you past Hotel Mellaunerhof and the houses on Schmalzgasse road to the edge of the forest. From there, you take a sharp left onto a wide mountain path that leads uphill, following the signs towards Mösern/Friedensglocke.

Pfaffenhofer Alm mountain hut

This route leads uphill through the upper village of Pfaffenhofen and then continues south along a paved road towards the hamlet of Höll. After about 1.7 km, the route branches off to the left and follows a mountain trail to the Pfaffenhofer Alm mountain hut, where you can take a break and enjoy a bite to eat.

Pfriemeswand and Zwölferspitze

This hikes takes you to three beautiful summits: Pfriemeswand, Zwöflerspitze and Birgitzköpfl. Thanks to the Muttereralm gondola, the hike is also enjoyable for families with sure-footed children. Surrounded by the beautiful Kalkkögel mountains, the hike has impressive views down over the Inn Valley and the city of Innsbruck. Places serving food along the way: the Mutterer Alm mountain restaurant, the Birgitzer Alm mountain hut and the Götzner Alm mountain hut.

Praxmar – Gries

To hike from Praxmar to Gries, first follow the road up to the hairpin bends at Kniepiss. When you come to the bridge, you'll see the start of the Panoramaweg trail (no. 1), which turns off to the left before the bridge and leads past a waterfall to Juifenau before continuing on to Gries. Alternatively, you can stay on the left-hand side of the stream when you come to the Hallschrotbrücke bridge and take the slightly shorter route past the hamlet of Narötz to Gries.

Raitiser Almweg (512)

This route leaves the forest just before the Scheipenhof guesthouse and heads across alpine meadows with wonderful views, before heading back into the woods for the last section to the Raitiser Alm mountain hut. The route has good connections to the Kreither Alm and the Mutterer Alm mountain huts on an easy panoramic trail with unique views. Please note: The Raitiser Alm is not open to the public.

Ranggen - Eben - Inzing

It then continues along the Peter-Anich-Weg trail to the hamlet of Eben before following the main road downhill to Inzing. From there, the route heads east to the Schärmerhof and then through the forest back up to the starting point in Ranggen.

Rangger Alm - Rosskogelhütte 13

Take the Bergbahnen Oberperfuss gondola up to Stiglreith at 1,363 metres above sea level or drive up to the car park at Stiglreith (fees apply). The hike starts by heading north along the ski slope. There you'll see a path that leads off into the forest. Follow this path to the Rangger Alm mountain hut (not open to the public). From behind the Rangger Alm, follow the forest path that leads steeply uphill in a southerly direction until you come to the edge of the forest and then cross the ski slope to the Rosskogelhütte mountain hut. From there, you can either follow the ski slope, which has amazing views, down to Stiglreith or hike down along the road. Highlights: An easy but demanding hiking trail, a little out of the way so not too highly frequented, fantastic views of the Inn Valley and the surrounding mountains.

Rauher Kopf

This hike starts at an altitude of 1,325 metres above sea level at the "Grüne Bank" above Rietz. From there, you join the Firsteggsteig trail, which leads relatively steeply uphill through the forest. After walking for about an hour, you will reach the Peter-Anich-Hütte mountain hut, where you can stop for a break and a bite to eat. The route then continues past the Unterseeben Alm hut (1,940 m, not open to the public), before turning right onto a hiking trail up to Rauher Kopf peak. Tips | notes: You need a permit in order to drive to the starting point. The permit is free of charge and is available at the town hall in Rietz or online at www.rietz.at/service/berechtigungsscheine. This saves you two hours of walking time. The journey is possible in a normal car. Please note: after heavy rainfall, the road is difficult to drive and an all-terrain vehicle is recommended.

Rauher Kopf

This route starts in Hattingerberg and follows the forest road that leads off from above the "Oberländerhof" (the former Gasthof Bergfrieden) as it climbs steadily up to the Archbrandhütte mountain hut (not open to the public). Hikers with good fitness levels have multiple opportunities to turn off onto the signposted Archbrandsteig trail, which considerably shortens the hike. When you get to the hut, follow the signs for "Rauher Kopf". This trail takes you past the Jugendkreuz cross and up to the Heimkehrerkreuz cross, which stands at 2,308 metres above sea level on Rauher Kopf.
