From behind the Pfaffenhofer Alm mountain hut, follow the signs to "Narrenkopf". The route leads up the steep mountainside to the left of the streambed and continues until it reaches the edge of the corrie. From there, follow the signs and the trail markers along the corrie basin until you reach the end of it. Then continue to the right, follow the trail as it zigzags up to the col and then keep right again to continue up to the summit of Narrenkopf. There are two crosses on Narrenkopf: the original cross is the one set furthest back and it’s this one that marks the highest point.

The summit cross is beautiful and the views from the peak are absolutely stunning: to the north lie the high peaks of the Karwendel mountains, to the east Rumerspitze and the Lower Inn Valley, to the south and south-west the Tux Alps, the Stubai Alps and the city of Innsbruck.

A beautiful circular hike above Innsbruck. This tour is not very technically difficult but it does require a good level of fitness. The climb from Brandjochboden up to the summit, in particular, is quite steep. On this tour, you explore the slopes of the Nordkette mountain range and enjoy views of the rugged Karwendel mountains. The route finishes in the district of Sadrach in Innsbruck. From there, you can continue on public transport if desired.

This hike starts from the Juifenalm car park and leads up to the Juifenalm mountain hut, either along a wide forest road or a somewhat steeper summer trail. Once you come to the so-called "Jagdhütte" (hunting lodge), the forest opens up and the route continues along the path to the Juifenalm mountain hut, which is located at an altitude of 2,020 metres above sea level. From the hut, the route heads north-east, following a trail uphill past lush alpine roses, mountain flowers and beautiful alpine pastures to the Windegg summit cross (2,577 m). The views from the summit cross are truly magnificent, overlooking the Inn Valley far below and the Stubai Alps off in the distance. The hike back follows the same route.

This hike starts behind the tourist information centre in Kühtai and leads up the ski slope. When you come to the wooden bridge behind the fenced off reservoir, cross the Stocktaler Bach stream and follow route no. 151 past the Kaiser-Maximilian-Hütte mountain hut. At an altitude of about 2,400 metres above sea level by the Schwarzmoosseen lakes, the route leaves the ski area and continues on past a memorial cross, across the northern slope of the Hintere Grieskogel (including a short section that is secured with cables) and up over the wide eastern ridge to the summit of Pirchkogel. There you are rewarded with unbelievably stunning views. The cross is a few minutes away on a peak just before the summit on the Inn Valley side. From there, you can either follow the route that leads down to the west via the Feldringer Böden to Marlstein or double back and follow the same route back down to Kühtai.
